Our approach
Khelnar Dokan began with a narrow question: what would a toy shop look like if it carried less? Most shops answer volume with more volume, and the result is a wall of options with no way through it.
We took the other route. A few hundred pieces, each one opened and handled before it is listed. The joins, the edges, the finish, the weight of it in a hand — all quick to check, and between them they tell you most of what matters.
Then it goes in front of a child, because build quality and holding power are separate things. A toy can be beautifully made and still be dull by Thursday. Both have to hold before it earns a page.
What we publish is plain. Materials named in full. The maker's age range, marked as a floor rather than a target, since age labels are mostly about small parts. Size and weight written down. No adjectives doing work a specification should do.
We do not claim to know every child. We claim only that everything here was looked at properly, and that what is missing was left out on purpose.
